We previously sent an advance notice for moving all the Shawbury Village Players costumes, flats and props. We can confirm that we’ll be tackling this move this weekend, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April. We’d like everyone who can to meet us at the barn at 9:30am and the Shawbury Village hall at 10:30am.
If you need directions to the barn, please contact Richard Bray on 01939 250612 or email on firstname.lastname@example.org
You may not be aware but there are thousands of items to be moved, so all help would be grateful, even for only a couple of hours.
We have decided to run a survey to find out how members are interacting with the group, what they’ve been able to do in the group, what they’d like to do and to find out about the general direction of the group for the future. So if you have ever taken part in a Village Players production, been involved in a social event, interested in amateur dramatics or simply just been part of the audience we’d really like your opinions. Even if you are the parent of someone who’s been in a production, your opinion counts. http://shawburyvillageplaye.polldaddy.com/s/svp-big-2017-survey
The survey will be closing on Wednesday 3rd May, so please forward the above link to anyone you think would like to help and/or join the group. Please spend 5-10mins to help plan for the future of the Shawbury Village Players.
The next quiz night will be held again at Shawbury Village Hall on Friday 28th April 2017 at 7.30pm.
These quizzes are open to members and non-members. Teams of up to 6 – no need to book. £3 per person entry fee. Prizes for the winners and best in each round.
Bring your own food and drink but coffee/tea will be available in the interval.
Please note that help is required in setting up the hall from 6.30pm.
At the last committee meeting I made the suggestion of going on a SVP meal out and theatre trip, the committee thought it was a good idea so here is the plan.
- Date: Saturday 10th June 2017
- Where: Theatre Severn Shrewsbury
- What: Cats musical.
- Time: 5.30 pm for Meal, Venue TBC.
- Why? Just to have a good fun night out.
- Who? SVP members and their families past and present.
- Cost: £40
I am in negotiations with the theatre and 3 restaurants as to which can provide the best meal options within the price stated above. I can reserve a large number of seats with payment for the show to be at least 6 weeks before, i.e. end of April. Payment details to follow.
Please contact me via email email@example.com as soon as possible with confirmation of how many places you would like to book. Theatre seats are selling well so the sooner the better. The deadline for reply is Sunday 7th April.
Go on, you know you want to have a great social and see a show. It would be absolutely fab to have lots of interest in this, hopefully it will be the first of many.
I’m writing to update you and ask for your help regarding our proposed move from the barn to Shawbury Village Hall. On Tuesday 4th April the builders started work in the library. It is thought that the work may be complete in two weeks – if not totally finished at least enough to allow us to move into the new space!
I would ask that if at all possible you pencil in two dates when we might carry out the move.
- Saturday and Sunday 22nd / 23rd April and / or
- Saturday and Sunday 29th / 30th April
I am sure you are all aware that there are thousands of items to be moved and we will need every group member to help!
Please make a note of the dates and I will confirm the days and times when the move is to be undertaken.
