Our new murder mystery audio play ‘Murder at the Castle’ proves that a team-building weekend can be murder!
We have started production of our fourth murder mystery audio play. The play has been written and our actors are now recording their dramatic lines. Once post-production is complete we’ll be releasing the play on our website and also on our YouTube channel.
Our three earlier plays have amassed an amazing combined viewing total of over 57,500 worldwide.
‘Murder at the Castle’ will definitely add to that. Watch this space for more information over the next few weeks.
A researcher for FIZZ TV is working on a brand new series of the hit BBC series Lightning and they are currently looking for contestants to join them on the show. They are looking for a wide range of people to take part and they are currently just trying to spread the word with people they think might be interested. Details are in the poster below.
Last year we took advice and uploaded our audio plays to You Tube. We started our Shawbury Village Players channel and since then the plays have been listened to by thousands of people worldwide. At the time of writing our plays have been listened to by a total of over 36,000 times! Over 90% of the people have commented very favourably to the plays.
Some people are mean and criticise the plays but then again other people quickly respond and criticise them. Nearly everybody appreciates our efforts and we all have to remember that we are an amateur group and what we have created – using only iPhones recording lines in isolation, and a laptop – is pretty good. Some have said that they are better than the BBC but that might be too much praise.
We hope our efforts have brought some pleasure and entertainment to those of you in our village, and now, a wider audience. If we haven’t then listen to a BBC audio play.
In the meantime, we are waiting to start live productions again as soon as social distancing advice changes and regulations change. If you want to listen to our plays then click on this link here. These are free to listen to, but if you would like to help in our funding appeal you can make a contribution by going to our GoFundMe appeal site at https://gf.me/u/ywwqq2
Yes, it is sad to say but we will be having our final live online quiz on Friday 30 April 2021 starting at 7:30pm.
The quizzes have been running for over a year now but we are taking a break before we resume the quizzes in the village hall as soon as restrictions and social distancing guidance permits.
In the meantime, you can read more about our lockdown online quizzes, and even download past quizzes, by clicking on the link in the Lockdown Quiz box on our home page or by clicking here.
Yes, the quiz is free to take part. However, we still have bills to pay so if you would like to make a contribution here to go towards our annual rent then please click here to go to our GoFundMe page. All donations would be very much appreciated.
