We are sorry that we have had to cancel our end-of-the-month quizzes. If you are stuck at home why not try out our March quiz which is now available online by clicking here.
It is with great regret that we are cancelling our summer production of the Merry Wives of Windsor which was due to take place in June 2020.
Although many of the cast were happy to continue rehearsals, we realised that we should practice social distancing from each other and that exposing members of the public to a confined environment in the current pandemic situation was not advisable.
We hope to put the play on at a later date, possible in the summer 2021.
Please come back to our website to see when we hope to bring you more drama productions, which will be when it is deemed once more to be safe to everyone.
Due to the Covid 19 situation, Shawbury Village Players are suspending our costume loan facility until further notice.
With apologies to all our regular quizzers but in view of the rapidly changing situation with Covid19 we have taken the decision to cancel all our end-of-the-month quiz nights with immediate effect.
We hope to resume our quiz nights once the pandemic is over. Until then we hope you all understand.
As a little compensation, we have created our March 2020 quiz as an online version. Try it here.
From Richard Bray
Many of you will be aware that the S.V.P. Committee has agreed that in the summer of 2020 we will perform The Merry Wives of Windsor at Acton Reynald Hall. I am hoping that you will consider attending for the reading/auditions which are to be held in Shawbury Village Hall on Sunday 19th January at 2.30 p.m. and Wednesday 22nd at 7.30 p.m. The play will be performed during the week 21st to 28th June 2020 and rehearsals will commence on the 8th March and be held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
The play, one of Shakespeare’s funniest comedies, should be a pleasure to rehearse and perform. There are lots of parts for both men and women and of course there is a need for backstage crew and front of house team members. I plan to bring the play out of its Elizabethan setting into more recent times and I hope all the characters will come to life and entertain our audiences.
If you are interested but cannot make the readings please let me know – tel 01939 250612 or 07966633116 or email at email@example.com
I look forward to taking part with you in Shawbury Village Players 40th year and the production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Panto time is here and it is not too late to buy your tickets to see our fun production of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
Tickets can still be bought for tonight’s performance and also both performances on Saturday 4th January.
